Aerobag - Design update

The development of Aerobag is moving forward at a strong pace. Our latest prototypes are becoming more refined with every iteration, lighter, more durable, and offering significantly improved abrasion resistance.

In addition, several different models are now being evaluated by established manufacturers.

These producers are exploring how Aerobag could be integrated into their existing product portfolios, opening up exciting opportunities for wider implementation.

We’re looking forward to sharing more about these collaborations and the next steps in bringing Aerobag closer to market.

Custom swim pads -Design update

After several prototypes, I am now refining the design with a focus on wrist positioning.

The pad surface has been enlarged, and I integrated a subtle wrist angle guide.

This feature encourages maintaining a high elbow during the pull phase, rather than relying on wrist rotation.

Interestingly, I discovered that with this configuration it is harder to maintain a straight line in the water.

To compensate, I have to pay much more attention to symmetry and mirroring my arm movements.

Whether this added challenge is a useful training benefit or an unwanted limitation is still unclear.

Work in progress, more to come.

Custom Swim Pads – My New Project

Swim pads (or hand paddles) are a key training tool for swimmers—they help build strength and improve technique.

But most are one-size-fits-all. So, I thought: why not make them better?

I swim between 10 and 20 km every week, and I know how important good gear is.

Top coach Ronald Gaastra challenged me to design and 3D print truly custom swim pads. I took him up on it.

We’re already testing the first prototypes—10 different shapes, playing around with flexibility, size, and water feel.

The goal? Fully customized, 3D-printed swim pads made for individual swimmers.

It’s early days, but exciting stuff.

To be continued…
